I had so much fun making the kids New Years hats today. I'll be honest, this was suppose to be an activity for the kids. But it was so much fun I hijacked the whole thing.
This was also a great activity to use up some extra crap craft supplies lying around.
I used a 12 X 12 piece of card stock for the base. I drew a rounded edge by holding a piece of string tied to a pencil in one corner. I covered the card stock in Christmas wrapping paper and embellished it. The feathers are from an after Christmas sale at JoAnn's three years ago. I made the 2010 using shrinky dinks.
I covered these shrinky dinks in glitter
I made the pom pom on this one using a cheerleader pom pom. I couldn't go too crazy with this one. It's for my son.

What a lovely blog and beautiful family you have. The photograph you shared of them in their Christmas dresses is adorable! I am new to blogging but happy I came upon yours this evening. You are very creative.

Can you tell me where you got that blue mini bench thing or exactly what it is. I LOVE IT!
We made these at our house and they turned out sooo cute. The kids all made their own, choosing 12x12 scrapbooking papers at the craft store and then embellishing with feathers and glitter! What a great idea and a lot of fun too.
I wish I had seen this post before... I'll have to remember the idea for next year. They're fantastic!
