Designing for Haiti

My cute little sister was asked to participate in a mock project runway competition yesterday. She was asked to design an outfit inspired by Haiti. After being judged, the outfits were displayed and auctioned off. All the proceeds were for Haiti.

She had ONE day and $50 to make something. Don't you love what she came up with. The black and gray obviously represent the piles of gravel. The pink represents a fresh start.

I love the neck line and cute pink button.

She layered belts to represent all the layers of destruction. She made all three belts.

Pink flowers to give hope for new growth.

I'm glad she asked me to be her assistant for the morning.
Isn't she talented. I've been asking her to come do a guest post. She is very talented at designing, sewing, and pattern making. Maybe if people leave her comments she'll consider it.

It is super cute and I love all the details she added to the garmet. Outstanding job for only having a day to put it together.

Well I guess it's in the genes. You are both super talented. I love her thoughtfullness to the project. Each element of this was amazing.

Tell her we want her now, beg her, plead with her, and if you must bribe her. We just have to see more of her stuff.

I LOVE this outfit! And for only having a day (and $50), she did a great job. She should definitely do a guest post!

Thanks for sharing. Maybe she could do a guest post on a cute sweater that she's promised to make me for over a year now!

That was me that left the last comment, not Joseph. She can make him a sweater too, but she has to make mine first.
