Over the last few months I've made a few bags. I thought I would share them all at once. They are all a variation of the same pattern. I love that I've gotten so much use out of one pattern. I should probably find another one to mix thing up a bit.
this first bag was a birthday gift for my daughters friend. I scaled the bag down to fit her size.
Her friends name starts with E, she turned 7 and her favorite color is turquoise. She loved the personalized bag. I think I might be making some more of these.
I love this bag for summer. I made it for someone else, but I bought enough fabric to make my own. It's on my to-do list.
I experimented with a new kind of closure. I really like it, I think the button works well with the fabric.
Another upholstery bag. I love the gold color and the print.
The fabric is amazing and originally cost $40 a yard. I got it at a fabulous store that was going out of business.
It was hard to let this one go.
It's made from more expensive upholstery fabric bought at closeout.
I love the print and all of it's great texture.
Okay, I really liked this one too. It's so classic.
The fabric had this great woven almost burlap feel. The black damask is velvet.
I got a huge piece of red vinyl for $5. I got it to make the baby shoes, knowing I would find something to do with the rest. Well, I thought I would try using it on a bag.
It was much harder to work with then I expected. I'm excited to see how it holds up. I hate it when vinyl cracks. I'm still trying to decide if I love this one or not. Maybe I can't get over all the flaws.
What are you doing with these bags? I LOVE the black/ivory damask one!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE the second bag. Do you remember what the fabric is? I am doing my girls' bathroom and that would be perfect for a shower curtain!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I love that style. I am amazed with all of different things you can make! I never knew you were so crafty until I started reading your blog!
ReplyDeleteLove these bags! I have a pattern that looks similar and you are making me want to go start one right now!
ReplyDeleteI really like the bags that you made. Is it a commercial pattern or is it your own design? I would like to make one similar since all of yours turned out great!
ReplyDeleteBags, bags, BAGS!!!
ReplyDeleteI would like a tutorial, since I am an recovered-bagholic.
Thank you. :)
This is a super cute pattern!
ReplyDeleteOh my, if you cannot get over the "flaws" on the red vinyl, I would definitely buy it! I think it is very cute!
ReplyDeleteOh wow! The upholstery bags are the best!!! The one with the red vinyl is awesome and I can assure you that it looks flawless!!! The damask fabric is awesome but I think that you might find that the velvet wears off fairly quickly where it rubs against your body... I had this happen with a similar fabric.
ReplyDeleteAwesome work!
Please tell us the pattern!
ReplyDeleteThey are all so great:) I especially love the idea of the personalized bag. What a great gift for a little girl. We call ours the "bag lady" becuase she always has one over shoulder stuffed full of junk:)
