My newest niece was born months ago and I just got around to finishing her painting. My only excuse is that she lives on the other side of the country.
I really like this one and it sounds like my sister does too.
She sent me this picture of her curtain fabric.
I've still got so much to learn about painting but I think it's my favorite thing to do right now. It's just so relaxing.
Maybe someday I can take an art class and figure out the right way to do things.
For now I hope people can find character and love in all the imperfections.
Seriously, I don't think you need a class...your painting is so cute! You did a great job and what a special gift!
ReplyDeleteI agree! No classes needed. This is lovely!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful painting! I love the new little one's name too.
ReplyDeleteI know that baby! I love her! And your painting is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI learn a lot just by jumping in a trying...looks like you're doing just fine.
ReplyDeleteThat painting is a perfect match for the curtains!
ReplyDeleteKalleen, you are a woman of many, many talents! I'm impressed!

That is beautiful, I love the colors that you used!
ReplyDeleteThat's gorgeous and by the time you get around to taking an art class you'll probably be good enough to teach it! If that is you untrained than you have quite a talent.
ReplyDeleteYou did an amazing job! You're a natural artist!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Looks great! Link it up to Mad Skills Monday...hope to see you there!

Agree with the other posters - no class for you!! :) It is just beautiful! If I had talent like that, I'd probably find it relaxing, too! :)
ReplyDeleteoh my- that is simpy adorable! and so impressive. i wish i could just whip out artwork like that! amazing!
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS! I seriously thought you adhered some paper or fabric to the wood and painted the name part over it! It looks PERFECT. Absolutely beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteYou are an artist! Beautiful job.
ReplyDeleteWarm wishes, Tonya
Wonderful job! You captured the fabric beautifully.
ReplyDeleteI'm a self-taught artist and now make my living doing it. If you like taking classes, go for it. But I took an art class waaay back in 1975 and quit painting for 20 years.
In the beginning, it took me forever to complete a painting. But I enjoyed 'solving the puzzle.'
Just keep painting. That's the main thing. Oh, and I hope you stop by sometime. One of my goals is to offer painting videos online. For now, I just do little projects.
Again - beautiful job!
This is very cute! I love when nurseries are personalized. And what a beautiful name! Thanks so much for linking up this week! :)
ReplyDeleteI think it's stunning!!
ReplyDeleteI saw this on Life as Lori - Get Your Craft on Thursday. You did a great job matching her fabric! Definitely goes into my inspiration box!
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL!!! How DO you find the time for all of your crafts and homemade goodies, as well as blog about them with four children!?!?!
