I'm starting to think about and work on our Halloween Costumes. I thought I would repost last years costumes.
My oldest girl asked to be a clown. I was a little hesitant at first and even tried to talk her out of it. But, the more I thought about it over time I realized it was a fabulous idea. I had so much fun making her costume I decided to make all my girls clowns. I mostly used scraps and trim my mom and I had on hand. I had just as much fun making the hats as the dresses.

My oldest ended up being sick with Strep last year. Thankfully she was back to normal in time for trick-or-treating.

My son wanted to be a skeleton. I tried to talk him out of it as well, I'm a mean mom. He persisted, so this is what I did.
I used black sweats, white fabric and Heat n' Bond. I drew out all the bones cut them out and ironed them on. I was scared it would be hard, but turned out to be pretty simple.
I wanted him to paint his face white. He said that was too spooky, yet
he wanted to pose like a dead skeleton.
wow! those are Fabulous!!! SOO adorable. I don't really like clowns but those are too cute!! they are cute clowns!

ReplyDeleteMy son wants to be a skeleton too! This will help me a ton. I am pretty nervous about drawing the bones right. You have given me courage! :)
ReplyDeleteLove your Halloween rosette pillow too. Very nice!
The clown costumes are adorable! I love how the older the girl, the more elaborate the face paint. Oh,and your skeleton total rocks! I had to make one for my younger son when he was 3. He wanted it to reflect his previously broken bones. I did the sweats, like you, but I drew and cut all the bones out of felt, then sewed them on. He also wanted it to be front and back! I wish I would have known what heat and bond was back then!!!
