Halloween mantel and other decorations

Okay, you are now going to find out what a sweet tooth I have.  Halloween was my favorite holiday growing up.  Yes, ever more than Christmas.  If Santa would have brought me a giant bag of candy every year it may have been different.  I actually hate being scared and the dark, but the candy trumped everything.  Sadly I was one of those kids that ate most of their candy in one night. Don't ask me why my mom didn't try and stop me.
Decorating for the holiday has become just as fun over the years.  I've tried to add a few new things here and there.  I like to buy things after the holiday on clearance.

These little skeletons are one of my favorite things.  I hold my breath every year I put them out.  They dangle over the edge just waiting for my kids to knock them down.

It's hard to show with the mirrors reflection, but the sign says Beware.

This is probably a little more spooky than I usually want to go, but it happened and my kids pretend to be scared of it. I made the sign last week and absolutely love it.

I've painted some pumpkins and got more crows from the dollar store.

I bought these fun characters over the summer for super cheap.

Did you notice my absolute favorite decoration?  It's this black cheese cloth. You can buy it at the dollar store now. I've been buying a package here and there over the years from the party store. I think it gives a huge bang for your buck.  I've put it over my mantel, lamps,

over doorways

and mirrors.

I received this vinyl piece for helping a friend.  I really like it and wish I could use it over and over again.

I think we have the right touch of spooky but not scary.

And my rosette pillow is feeling right at home.

Now that decorating is done, I've got to focus on all those costumes.

  9. Everything looks great! And a tip for your skellies - try putting a bit of poster putty under their bums. You know, the white stuff that sticks the posters to your walls without the use of thumb tacks, etc. Works like a charm to hold fragile things in place without leaving any reside behind! (:
