*This is a re-post from last year. I know it's going to be 2011 not 2010.
There is still plenty of time to make a hat or two for your celebration tonight. We'll start making ours for this year in a little while.
I had so much fun making the kids New Years hats today. I'll be honest, this was suppose to be an activity for the kids. But it was so much fun I hijacked the whole thing.
This was also a great activity to use up some extra crap craft supplies lying around.
I used a 12 X 12 piece of card stock for the base. I drew a rounded edge by holding a piece of string tied to a pencil in one corner. I covered the card stock in Christmas wrapping paper and embellished it. The feathers are from an after Christmas sale at JoAnn's three years ago. I made the 2010 using shrinky dinks.
I covered these shrinky dinks in glitter
I made the pom pom on this one using a cheerleader pom pom. I couldn't go too crazy with this one. It's for my son.
Of course my daughter requested one for her new best friend Samantha. I was more than happy to waste some more time.
We are decorating hats today because of you. It is hard to believe you have been inspiring me for over a year now. Thanks for all your support this year.
