I Did It!

My first Wedding Cake.
Okay, can I have a moment to pat myself on the back. I have been so scared for the last month. I really didn't know if I could pull this off, but I did. Do you remember my practice cake HERE?

I am so proud of this cake, even if it is far from perfect.
I love the flowers.
The top tier is my favorite.
I think they liked it too.
Click HERE for the recipes I used and how I did it.

  1. It's gorgeous! Congratulations!!! I know what you have gone through ... my husband has made a few cakes for other people for special occasions. He made a wedding cake a couple of years ago as a favor and was so nervous - even though he used to be a pastry chef!
    Your cake looks awesome!

  9. ohhhh! That is beautiful! Great job! I am way too scared to make a wedding cake. I was going to make my own (a few years back) but my mom talked me out of it just in time so I didn't lose my mind!

  14. You did an amazing job for this to be your first wedding cake!! I've done cakes off and on for 14 yrs and my oldest dd just went thru culinary and is now doing it in addition to cooking job. How did you do flowers? Looks like the stand on their own, so royal icing?? But doesn't quite look like that..ummm, something stiffer than fondant? Gumpaste? ooohhhh, or sugarveil?? Come by and visit me, have some cake pics too. Made a cake with a royal icing tiara on previous post.
