Burlap and Doily Flag

I am so loving this flag. It was a super easy and quick project. Plus I was able to make it with things I already had at home. This project is similar to my Mod Podge hand trees.

I started with this old cutting board. I got it from my dad's garbage pile here.

I spread some Mod Podge over the board and placed a piece of burlap on the top. Then I flipped it over and cut the extra burlap off with an exacto knife.

After I cut the edges, I Mod Podged the edges to make sure they wouldn't fray.

Then I cut seven strips of fabric for my stripes. I lucked out, my board was exactly 14 inches and there are 14 stripes. I marked where my stripes should go and glued them down.

Then I cut and added a blue rectangle piece of fabric to the corner.

The final touch was some doily's I bought at an estate sale last week.

Once it was all in place I smothered the whole thing in Mod Podge.

The doily's remind me of fireworks and work well with the rest of our decor.
