Mother's Day Bracelet {for Grandma}

I've given corsages to my Mother and Mother-in-Law to wear on Mother's Day in the past. This year I wanted to do something a little different.

I hope you aren't sick of my Shrinky Dink obsession, because I used them again to make this fun bracelet for my Mother-in-Law. {She doesn't even know I have a blog so I don't have to worry about ruining the surprise.}
I did the names and my kids did the artwork.
The process is pretty similar to the custom straight pins. First I drew an image.
After coloring it and cutting it out, I punched a nail through the top.
Then I Baked it, following the directions on the package. Immediately after baking I removed the nail.
Once it cooled I added a jump ring to the hole and attached it to my bracelet.
I doubt my Mother-in-law will wear this after Mother's Day, but I think it could be a fun tradition to add new charms each year. I think the fuller it gets the better it will look.

Such a clever idea! I didn't even know you could still get Shrinky Dinks. (I LOVED my Smurf Shrinky Dinks when I was a kid!) I'll have to keep this in mind for some future project. Thanks!

What a great idea! I love it!!

I just wanted to give you a heads up about a great shrinky dink tool. I used to sell Stampin' Up! products, and we used a heat gun to make them after they were stamped. You can buy them at any craft store for about $15 and it takes literally SECONDS for them to shrink! It is soooo much fun watching them shrink before your eyes! (I used an empty shoe box to keep it from blowing all over the place. And it does take a few times to get the hang of it - you have to keep flipping it over for it to shrink evenly. But it's soo worth it!)

Keep the great ideas coming!! This would be a fun teacher gift too!

what a great gift! I love this idea. I'm doing a silhouette charm bracelet for my mom with all her grandkids on it! But I'm worried about the weight of the glass tile. Maybe these would be better!

We are working on a similar idea for mother's day this year! We stamped my 9 month old's teeny foot prints on the shrinky dinks and after baking covered them with clear nail polish to keep the paint from coming off. Before baking I used a hole punch for the hole and it worked great!

I made a bracelet from shrinky dinks, just round circles. It was great and makes nice noise. lol But,
I never did get the size I wanted from the circles. How do you know big to make the oval or circle to get a nice size charm?
Thank you

I absolutely adore this! Such a great idea. I don't know much about making jewellery though. What equipment/findings would I need to make this? And, what pens did you use to write/draw?
